WUKF Referees
Dear friends,
A big “Thank you “ from the Referee Commission.
Hours of hard work due to the small number of referees (and I truly appreciated your involvement for going all further!).
Above all we can say that the refereeing was definitely good! No big problems, no important injuries, no bad behaviors!
Step by step, I think we are going closer to our goals!
During the competition, I noticed some small basic errors concerning the appreciation of some kata and kumite situations or in the management of the some tatami activities!
We presented all these in seminar; also we practice for hours, but some of us forgotten!
Of course we couldn’t change “over night” the behavior of referees. We hopped, but…
A simple mistake could lead sometime to a huge problem!
So, I ask myself: what could be the causes of all these?
Lack of studying WUKF Rules? The rules are not so clear? Poor and rarely referee seminar on WUKF rules in member countries? Lack of practice? Lack of courage in assuming the responsibility of a decision?
However, in our strategy for improving the quality of WUKF events, we will implement the Regional training seminars for referees starting from the very next future.
We can't lose the time to the big WUKF events presenting the refereeing basics!
We must give the opportunities to more referees that could not attend the big WUKF events because of the lack of money!
And maybe we shall discover talented referees and promote them.
And of course, all competitors, coaches, presidents are interested to have good referees.
So we’ll come to you for work together with the referees, from the basic up!
In this way we will have in WUKF events good referees and almost all of the problems will be solved at these regional seminars!
Please check your schedule for the next year and send me your proposals. You can find bellow a program of what we have up to now:
- Russia - February 2010
- Northen Ireland - March 2010
- Ukraine - May 2010
- Poland –maybe in May (not clear up to now)
- Serbia announced me that they want to organise also a seminar!
The new WUKF members (Italy, Poland, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Denmark, etc) are welcomed to use the opportunity to train their referees, but these seminars will act in the most efficient and fast way for improving not only the national referees but especially the actual international WUKF Judges and Referees!
We must focus to the next events in Portugal and Brazil to be sure that the best referees will be present!
And if we try to copy our president…”Let’s try to do the best arbitration in the whole world”.
